Product Overview

ATI Model 00-1169 H₂O₂ Smart Sensor – Product Overview

Brand: ATI (Analytical Technology, Inc., USA)
Model: 00-1169
Full Name: H₂O₂ Smart Sensor
Range: 200 – 2000 ppm, designed for high-concentration detection in Vaporized Hydrogen Peroxide (VHP) sterilization processes
Origin: USA
Compatible Hosts: ATI Porta-Sens III, B12 Series Hydrogen Peroxide Detectors / Transmitters

I. Operating Principle

The sensor utilizes electrochemical sensing technology. Gaseous hydrogen peroxide permeates through a gas-permeable membrane into the sensor, where it undergoes an oxidation-reduction reaction at the working electrode. This reaction generates a current signal that is directly proportional to the H₂O₂ gas concentration. The host instrument reads this signal and converts it into a concentration value for output.

This sensor is specifically designed for vaporized hydrogen peroxide (VHP) gasnot for liquid hydrogen peroxide detection. It is ideally suited for sterilization processes involving high humidity and highly oxidative gas environments.

2. Technical Specifications

ParameterSpecification
Target GasH₂O₂ (Vaporized Hydrogen Peroxide)
Measuring Range200 – 2000 ppm

Operating Temperature0°C to +50°C
Operating Humidity10 – 95% RH (non-condensing)
Expected Service Life1 – 2 years (shorter with higher sterilization frequency)
Signal OutputIntelligent digital signal, fully compatible with ATI host instruments
Overload RangeUp to 3000 ppm (prolonged exposure above range accelerates aging)
Serial NumberEach sensor features a unique factory-calibrated S/N code

3. Product Features

  • Factory calibrated before shipment. After replacement, the host instrument automatically recognizes the sensor via its serial number — no on-site complex calibration required.

  • Specifically developed for VHP (Vaporized Hydrogen Peroxide) sterilization applications in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, capable of withstanding highly oxidative sterilization atmospheres.

  • Smart sensor with plug-and-play functionality, fully compatible with ATI original detectors for direct concentration readout.

  • High humidity resistance — suitable for sterilizers, isolators, biosafety cabinets, and other high-humidity environments.

  • Plastic-encapsulated and individually sealed packaged. Requires protection from light and storage at room temperature during transport and storage

4. Typical Applications

  • VHP concentration monitoring in pharmaceutical freeze dryers and sterilization chambers

  • Sterilization process monitoring in biosafety cabinets and sterile isolators

  • VHP sterilization process detection in laboratories and GMP-compliant production areas

  • Gas concentration collection in medical device sterilization chambers

⚠️ Note: This model is not suitable for low-ppm leak detection scenarios. It is a high-range sensor with a lower detection limit of 200 ppm, and is not designed for measuring trace-level leakage below a few dozen ppm.

5. Installation and Usage Guidelines

  • Compatible only with ATI original host instruments (Porta-Sens III, B12 Series). Cannot be directly connected to other brands of equipment.

  • Prevent condensate from directly contacting the sensor membrane. Liquid hydrogen peroxide immersion will directly damage the sensing membrane.

  • Storage conditions: Keep at room temperature, protected from light. Do not freeze. Unopened shelf life is approximately 2 years.

  • When response slows down, readings drift, or the sensor fails to zero out, it indicates the sensor has reached the end of its service life and needs replacement.

  • Higher sterilization frequency accelerates sensor consumption. Frequent operation at full range (2000 ppm) will shorten the sensor's lifespan.

6. Common Fault Symptoms

SymptomPossible Cause
Low readings / slow responseSensing electrode depleted — nearing end of service life
Drifting readings / unable to zeroMembrane oxidized and poisoned by hydrogen peroxide
Host cannot recognize the sensorPoor contact or sensor hardware damage
