The American-made Bimba FOD-170.375-4R is a compact double-acting pneumatic cylinder from the FOD series: It features a bore diameter of 1-1/2 inches (38 mm), a piston rod diameter of 3/8 inches (9.5 mm), and a stroke length of 4 inches (102 mm). The entire cylinder body is made of anodized aluminum, paired with a stainless steel hard-chrome-plated piston rod, offering excellent corrosion and wear resistance. Its self-lubricating composite seals enable maintenance-free operation for a distance of at least 5,000 km under conditions of 0–250 psi (0–1.7 MPa) pressure and -20–80 ℃ temperature. Both the front and rear end caps are equipped with magnetic reed switch slots, allowing for the installation of proximity switches for position detection. A variety of mounting accessories (such as foot brackets, flanges, and trunnions) are available for selection. With its lightweight design, this cylinder is well-suited for light- to medium-duty high-speed automated equipment in packaging, assembly, and inspection applications.
