The American Bimba CYL-A-001705 belongs to the Position Feedback Cylinder series. It features a bore diameter of 1-1/2 inches and a stroke length of 4 inches. The cylinder is constructed with a 304 stainless steel cylinder body, a hard-chrome-plated carbon steel piston rod, and anodized aluminum end caps. It incorporates rare-earth magnetic rings and a linear potentiometer to provide real-time output signals of 0–10 V or 4–20 mA, enabling continuous position monitoring throughout the entire stroke.
Operating within a pressure range of 50–125 PSI, it can run without lubrication between -20 and 200 ℉. The rod end is integrated with a Rod Lock mechanism that automatically locks upon air supply interruption, providing a holding force of 170 lbf. The cylinder has an overall lifespan of 5 million cycles for the cylinder itself and 1 million cycles for the locking mechanism, making it suitable for applications requiring closed-loop position control and power-off pressure retention, such as assembly, inspection, and robotics.
