Weidmuller Unveils Cubeseries Industrial Relay Modules for Versatile Applications

Published by: EFFSEN | HONGKONG | Date: 2025-06-16

Weidmüller USA has recently launched its latest innovation in industrial relay technology with the introduction of the Cubeseries relay modules. Designed to cater to a wide range of industrial control systems, these modules seamlessly integrate with virtually any existing hardware, offering a universal solution for diverse automation needs.

Weidmüller's Cubeseries industrial relay modules are engineered to provide standard relay functionality, enhanced with a host of features that become apparent only upon installation. The modules simplify wiring and expedite installation processes, offering both push-in and screw connections for added flexibility. According to Weidmüller, its push-in connection technology can slash wiring time by up to 50%, all without the need for any specialized tools.

Beyond wiring convenience, the Cubeseries industrial relay modules also boast improved amp ratings compared to Weidmüller's previous offerings. This gives system designers greater flexibility in their designs, eliminating the need to drastically alter or expand the control system's footprint.

For testing and troubleshooting purposes, Weidmüller has included Cubeseries variants with built-in diagnostic LEDs. Additionally, many variants feature a locking test button, making it easy to test a module during troubleshooting of more complex control systems. The modules also provide easily accessible test points for quickly verifying relay operation with a multimeter.

The Cubeseries industrial relay modules are available in two distinct series: the CRI relays, with a 16 mm width designed for one or two changeover contacts, and the CRM relays, measuring 27 mm in width and offering two or four changeover contacts.

The CRI relays are more compact and are designed for rapid switching of small industrial loads, while the CRM relays provide more space for contacts and connections. Both series are available with optional accessories, such as cross-connection contacts, LED modules, protection modules, and other hardware. Furthermore, both the CRI and CRM series are UL listed and CSA approved for the United States and Canadian markets.

Starting this month, Weidmüller will commence production, testing, and verification of the Cubeseries industrial relays at its Richmond, VA, plant. Although the components are still manufactured in Europe, the new kitting and case packaging machine at the Richmond facility will enable direct shipping of relays to customers.

Weidmüller's relays are designed to be application-independent, thanks to their versatile yet standardized design. This makes them a perfect fit for nearly any existing industrial control system. Automation engineers can now design systems that accommodate higher currents without significantly increasing the hardware's footprint. With easy wiring and features that streamline testing, the Cubeseries relay modules are poised to become a staple in many manufacturing and industrial control systems.
