Flexible Machine Safety with the DS Range Configurable Access and Control Devices

At IDEM Safety Switches, we designed our DS Range to provide a fully configurable safety interlock and control station solution, combining multiple machine safety and operator control functions into one robust, integrated unit.

Fully Configurable Design

We understand that every machine is different, which is why our DS Range can be built to suit the exact requirements of each application. Options include push buttons, selector switches, indicator lamps, emergency stop functions and other operator controls.

Each device is also supplied with an ISO-compliant decal pack and coloured lens pack, giving machine builders the flexibility to create a control station tailored to each access point.

Guard Locking Option

Where controlled access is required, we can configure the DS Range with a guard locking option, providing a holding force of 4000N. With an integrated RFID sensor and access available from three entry points, the guard remains locked until it is safe for the operator to enter, helping to support safer access to hazardous areas.

Accessories

We have developed a range of accessories for the DS Range, including convenient handle and mounting plate arrangements designed to support quick and easy installation. The DS-MLZ also offers rear escape functionality, helping to provide an additional means of exit from inside guarded areas.

Simpler Machine Integration

By combining safety interlocking and operator controls into one assembly, we help reduce the need for separate devices, additional wiring and multiple mounting points. This supports cleaner machine design, simplified installation and reduced build time.
