Banner Engineering has officially launched its innovative DXMR50 Logic Blocks, breaking the traditional limitation of cabinet-based control logic and bringing powerful distributed automation capabilities directly to field equipment and production endpoints.

Designed to reshape compact industrial automation architectures, the DXMR50 series eliminates the reliance on centralized control cabinets for small and mid-sized automation systems. The logic block integrates core practical functions including timers, counters, signal scaling, and on-site I/O processing, enabling standalone logic execution without connecting to higher-level PLC or cabinet control systems.

Built with a rugged compact enclosure, the DXMR50 boasts IP65, IP67 and IP68 environmental ratings, perfectly adapting to harsh factory floor, outdoor and industrial field conditions. It operates on 10–30 V DC power supply, equipped with standard M12 connectors, dual input ports and configurable output ports, supporting PNP discrete signals as well as 0–10 V and 4–20 mA analog signals. Selected models also feature Modbus RTU client communication, allowing seamless data collection and protocol conversion from multiple field devices.

One of the standout advantages of the DXMR50 is its cabinet-free automation solution. By deploying control logic locally on machinery and equipment, manufacturers can reduce cabinet wiring complexity, cut hardware investment costs, and simplify system layout and maintenance. The configurable logic supports basic logical judgment, threshold triggering and operational calculation, catering to decentralized control demands in packaging, material handling, assembly lines and process monitoring applications.

As industrial automation moves toward edge computing and distributed control, Banner’s DXMR50 Logic Blocks deliver a cost-effective, plug-and-play alternative to conventional cabinet-centric designs. It empowers engineers to build more flexible, space-saving and reliable small-scale automation setups, further extending Banner’s footprint in edge I/O and decentralized industrial control markets.
